30 Years of SAS at POZnań Airport
SAS Scandinavian Airlines is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its Poznań–Copenhagen route – the longest-running international connection in the history of POZnań Airport.
Three Decades of Flights to Copenhagen
On 30 October 1995, the first SAS Scandinavian Airlines flight departed from Poznań to Copenhagen. Today, exactly 30 years later, this service remains one of the pillars of POZnań Airport’s international network, connecting Greater Poland with the heart of Scandinavia.
The Poznań–Copenhagen route is not only a destination with strong business and leisure ties but also an important transfer hub, offering passengers from Poznań access to hundreds of destinations across Europe and worldwide.
30 Years of Partnership and Trust
Three decades of SAS operations in Poznań are proof of the lasting value and potential of this route. Copenhagen opens the way for our passengers to all of Scandinavia, as well as major cities in North America and Asia. Together with SAS, we celebrate this anniversary and look to the future as we outline plans for continued cooperation, says Grzegorz Bykowski, CEO of POZnań Airport.
We are proud to celebrate 30 years of the connection between Poznań and Copenhagen – a route that symbolises strong ties between Greater Poland and Scandinavia. Poznań is an important part of our regional network, and we are pleased to offer passengers convenient access to Scandinavia and the world through our hub in Copenhagen, adds Henrik Winell, Vice President Network at SAS.
Convenient Connections via Copenhagen
SAS now operates up to 10 weekly flights from Poznań, most often twice daily, providing flexible travel options through its main hub at Copenhagen Kastrup.
The Danish capital’s airport is one of Europe’s major transfer gateways, offering access to all of Scandinavia – Oslo, Stockholm, Reykjavik – as well as key European cities including London, Paris, Rome and Madrid. Passengers can also travel onward across the Atlantic to New York, Chicago, Toronto or Tokyo.
Comfort and Network Development
Flights to Copenhagen are operated with modern Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft, offering 88 seats in comfortable cabin conditions. During the winter 2025/26 and summer 2026 seasons, SAS will introduce an enhanced schedule, enabling even better transfer options and shorter overall travel times.
As a result, the Poznań–Copenhagen route remains one of the most convenient gateways to Scandinavia and the world, reaffirming its key role in the development of the airport and the region.
