New connection to Shannon – closer to Ireland and the USA
The network of flights from Poznań is expanding again. Ryanair has announced the launch of a new route to Shannon in Ireland – a destination that opens up entirely new travel and connection options overseas for passengers from Greater Poland.
A new route on the map of Poznań
From March 31, 2026, Poznań Airport will offer direct flights to Shannon – a picturesque town in County Clare, located on the west coast of Ireland.
This is a unique option for those seeking destinations brimming with nature, history, and authentic charm. Shannon is an ideal base for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way – one of Europe’s most beautiful coastal routes. Also within a short journey are the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren National Park, and Bunratty Castle – gems of Irish heritage.

An attractive destination and new travel opportunities
The connection to Shannon is a response to the needs of travelers seeking less-explored destinations, away from the tourist hustle and bustle. Western Ireland is a region with a unique character and culture, which, thanks to Ryanair’s partnership with Poznań Airport, will now be even more easily accessible to residents of the Wielkopolska region – says Grzegorz Bykowski, CEO of Poznań-Ławica Airport.
Shannon is also one of the westernmost airports in Europe, offering convenient transatlantic connections – including to New York and Boston. As a result, the new route from Poznań not only expands the tourist offer but also creates new travel opportunities to the USA.
Growing network of connections from Poznań
The new route is consistent with the dynamic growth of passenger traffic at Poznań Airport. In the summer months of July and August 2025 alone, over 1 million passengers used Ławica Airport’s services, and the airport plans to end the year with a record number of over 4 million passengers served.
The continued expansion of the route network, including partnerships with major low-cost airlines, confirms Poznań’s growing position as one of Poland’s key regional airports.
The new connection from Poznań to Shannon is another step in the development of Ławica’s connection network – connecting Greater Poland with Western Ireland, and through it also with America.
