What to see in Paris
A walk through the streets of Paris is a fascinating adventure. See what you can’t miss during your visit:
• Eiffel Tower
The symbol of Paris, over 300 m high, is located on the Champ de Mars. From one of the three viewing terraces, with good visibility, you will be able to admire the panorama of the entire city. You can also taste French cuisine at the Jules Verne restaurant, located on the second terrace.
• Louvre
This is the most frequently visited museum in the world. The paintings gathered in the Louvre constitute the largest collection of paintings in the world – you will find here, among others, works by Raphael Santi, Rubens, and Vermeer. While in the Louvre, be sure to see Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa – the painting is guarded by security guards, but you can admire it freely.
• Notre Dame Cathedral
It is located in the heart of Paris. It was here that the famous Hunchback of Notre Dame, the hero of Victor Hugo’s novel, took refuge, and Napoleon Bonaparte was crowned emperor. In April 2019, a fire broke out in the cathedral – the relics and works of art were saved, but the reconstruction is still ongoing.
• Orsay Museum
You can see, for example, Vincent van Gogh’s Self-portrait or Edouard Manet’s Breakfast on the Grass. The industrial interiors of the former railway station, where the museum is located, create an excellent setting for exhibits of French art from the 19th and 20th centuries. For lovers of painting, sculpture or photography, it is a must-see on the travel map.
• Moulin Rouge
In the past – a meeting place for the artistic bohemia of Paris and the cradle of cabaret. Today, the “Red Mill” attracts tourists from all over the world, offering colorful, lavish performances. Sensual dancers and acrobats flirt with the audience by dancing the can-can, and the richly decorated stage design provides a great backdrop for showcasing the atmosphere of the 19th-century French capital.

Airport
Beauvais-Tillé Airport (IATA code: BVA, ICAO cat: LFOB) is located 85 km from the centre of Paris. You can get from the airport to the French capital quickly and easily by airport bus (Shuttle Bus) or train. The Shuttle Bus takes about 75 minutes to reach Paris Porte Maillot station, and a standard ticket purchased online costs less than 16 euros.
To reach Paris by train, take bus number 12 (€1.00) to Beauvais – Gare de Beauvais, which runs from the terminal. A standard TER ticket costs €14.50. The journey takes about 75 minutes. The train stops at Paris Nord.
