• Hyde Park

Although it is one of many parks in the city, it is different from all others. It is home to the Speakers Corner, where you can speak on any topic. However, one must remember the basic rule: do not insult the Queen!

• St. Paul’s Cathedral

The church is located on a hill in the City of London. The cathedral’s huge dome is one of the symbols of the city.

• Westminster Abbey

One of the most important Anglican churches. The place of coronation of the kings of Great Britain, as well as the burial of rulers and distinguished people.

• Tower of London

For centuries, the building served as a prison, fortress and palace. Henry IV and Anne Boleyn were imprisoned here. The fortress is guarded by Yeomen Warders, whose duties also include feeding the ravens living there.

• Tower Bridge

A drawbridge with two towers over the Thames. Its upper level offers a unique view of the river.

• Natural History Museum

An extremely interesting museum with many interactive elements. The earthquake simulation and dinosaur silhouettes are extremely popular!

• Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum

Its collection includes silhouettes of famous people from various walks of life, including film and music stars.

Practical tip

The Oyster card will allow you to save a lot on public transport tickets. You touch it when getting on and off the chosen means of transport, and the system collects the appropriate fee. When you buy the card, there is a refundable deposit of £5. The condition for getting it back is to return the card before leaving.

Public transport in London

You can travel around London by underground, buses, the DLR (automatic trains) in the east of the city, trams, trains and the overground (a surface extension of the tube on suburban routes). The city is divided into 6 zones and the fare depends on which zones you are travelling in.
