Special and oversized luggage
If your luggage differs in shape and dimensions from the luggage considered by the airline as standard, check the carrier’s conditions of carriage, the so-called special or sports luggage.
When booking a ticket, notify the airline of your intention to transport unusual luggage.
Remember that you usually have to pay an additional fee for this service.
Another important issue is the proper packaging of items of unusual sizes.
At the airport, bring your oversized luggage to the check-in desk for your flight.
Examples of items considered to be special or oversized luggage:
- skis,
- golf equipment bags,
- surfboards,
- bicycles,
- backpacks with loose or protruding elements,
- strollers,
- wheelchairs,
- musical instruments,
- dimensional cartons, but containing e.g. electronic equipment that can be damaged.
