The Royal Castle

The symbol of Warsaw was created in the 14th century and was originally the seat of the Dukes of Mazovia. City transport in Warsaw

Thanks to the well-organized tram and bus network, getting around the city is very convenient. You can quickly get from one end of the capital to the other by metro and train. ZTM in Warsaw offers a wide range of tickets, from single tickets to time and season tickets, valid from 20 minutes to even 90 days.

Practical tip

The Warsaw Tourist Card is available in a 24-, 48- and 72-hour variant. The card entitles you to free entry to over a dozen of the most important tourist facilities, such as the National Museum or the Copernicus Science Center.

The Airport

Chopin Airport (IATA code: WAW, OACI: EPWA) is located in Okęcie, approx. 8 km south-west of the center. It is the most modern and largest airport in Poland. The airport is connected with the city thanks to five bus lines.
