Beaches

Picturesque bays, lush green bushes and trees, and steep cliffs create amazing landscapes. Clean sand and water shimmering in many shades of turquoise invite you to spend time on Corfu’s fabulous beaches.

Angelokastro

This is the ruins of the Castle of the Angels, to which visitors are directed by a charming mountain road. It leads through fragrant olive groves and rocky serpentines. Near the ruins of the fortifications, there are several viewpoints offering a beautiful panoramic view.

Church of St. Spiridon

The destination of many pilgrimages, this place is very important to the identity of the Greeks. A visit to the church sets a reflective, meditative mood, and the richly decorated vaults are a delight to the eye. A distinctive feature of the church is the tall bell tower, visible from almost any point within the city.

Pantokrator

An extremely winding road leads to the highest peak of Corfu. It is worth taking it to enjoy the view of the island from the top. The Pantokrator is also visited by history lovers because of its historic monastery. It is worth mentioning that the steep summit can even be seen from neighbouring Albania!

The airport’s runway is almost entirely surrounded by turquoise water, which makes a great impression on tourists arriving on the island. The port is 3 km from the city centre, so with little luggage, the route can be covered on foot. Otherwise, buses and taxis run from the airport to the centre.

Urban transport in Corfu

There are two bus networks that run around Corfu: the blue – urban and the green – suburban. Tickets are sold in the vehicles (very comfortable and air-conditioned). A ticket valid for 24 hours costs €5.50.
