Global metropolis
Tel Aviv is called the New York of the Middle East. Why? Travelers are particularly intrigued by:
• Old Jaffa
The only part of Tel Aviv dating back to antiquity. It was once a separate city. Today, it is a meeting place for famous painters, writers and sculptors. It is home to a beautiful seaside port, the Mahmudi Mosque and a real gem – an excellent flea market where you can buy original souvenirs.
• Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center
It includes the Israeli Opera, the Cameri Theater and the futuristic building of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, whose collection presents the achievements of 20th-century artists.

• White City
A complex of about 4,000 white buildings erected in the German Bauhaus style, located in the city center.
• Azrieli Observatory
A magnificent viewpoint located on the 49th floor in one of the towers of the Azrieli Center.
• Carmel Market
A bustling local market where you can find fresh fruit and vegetables, spices, fish and other natural products.
• Coastline with beautiful beaches
This is a real paradise for lovers of water sports, such as surfing. The excellent development of the seaside area is also appreciated by families with children. Numerous playgrounds, restaurants and a dolphinarium do not let either the young or the old get bored.
Practical tip
The Bauhaus Center organizes guided tours twice a week, during which you will see the architecture of the White City complex.
Airport
The largest in Israel, Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport (IATA code: TLV, ICAO code: LLBG) is a modern airport located 15 km from the city centre. You can get there by train (in about 20 minutes) from the central Savidor station, paying 15 shekels, or almost 17 PLN. The train runs every hour, except on Shabbat. Another option is to get to the Tel Aviv bus station by bus 475 (in about 40 minutes) or by bus 222 to the city centre, to Hayarkon Street. The ticket costs 10 shekels (a little over 11 PLN).
Tel Aviv Public Transport
The city’s public transport is based on buses. The main carrier is the Dan company. A single ticket costs 5.90 shekels, or less than 7 PLN. You can also get around the city using sherut – minibuses that act as collective taxis.
